Hello of horse friends, who knows itself with the race Appaloosa out? How is the character of these horses? Do you resemble the English full blood in the Exterieur? One knows Appaloosa' s as leisure partners in the area ride?
(Ridendurance posting as ponygal)
I have ridden some very nice Appaloosa horses over the years and have had some friends with great Appy trail horses. They are wonderful endurance and competitive trail horses, especially when crossed with an Arabian. Some of the appaloosa horses I have been around have been quiet and rather slow and gentle and others were go getters and loved doing lots of miles but were steady and dependable. I admit that a few were a bit opinionated and determined to get their own way. I have come to realize that rather my calling them stubborn, they are left brain extroverts\introverts and I have learned a better strategy to engage and enjoy having "my idea" become "their idea" . I think Appys are nice all around horses and any is lucky to have one.
