Horse or pony breed
I'm interested in lots of horses.
What state or country are you from?
About Me:
I'm a hair stylist in Jacksonville.

I've been riding all my life.
Really, there's baby pictures of me riding here on the website.
Well, I took about about 20 years off when I lost my QH.

I started showing horse's in small shows when I was 9, on a 2 year old Tennessee Walker.

Then I moved on to Quarter Horses. Training them for pleasure classes, and showing them.
I rode a mare named Amber Lena in shows and on trail rides & even did some trick riding on her. I loved her so much. She was a wonderful horse. That when she had a foal. I knew it was the one for me. I was there when he was born.
I was 12 when he turned 6 months old that's when I bought him, with money I saved mowing yards and babysitting. I had him 26 years. He was the best!!
I trained him myself with instruction from my Grandpa who was 95 at the time.
Now I'm helping with the most wonderful Arabian stallions.
They had me at "hello"....
How did you find us?
My friend Dixie sent me a link.
Favorite movies?
Monty Python "In search of the Holy Grail"
When Harry met Sally
Thelma & Louise
Favorite Music?
Rock n roll,
thank you very much :)

A sunny Sunday ride by the river.

Last Sunday when Levantine couldn't go riding cause he had a sore foot.

So, Nancy let me ride Tantris.

Well, how should I describe him, personality wise?

Oh, he's a handful!!!!!!!!! Young and playful!!!!

So, Kirby on her horse Pageant (Kirby is Nancy's sister)

And, Jenny and Thadraine were up ahead of me at a canter.

Tantris has a little thing he does at a canter. I called it a "bunny buck".

Nancy thought that was a… Continue

Rodeo Travels

I was Tagged by Ridendurance about Dixie & my "wild rodeo" travels.

So here's some of it.

We worked at Motorola in Quincy. Dixie & I. Years and years ago.

That's where we met. We worked a couple of lines apart.

Occasionally we worked over time on the same line.

That's when we found out we both loved horses.

I invited Dixie to come down to Greenpond, IL to my Grandma's farm where I had my horse at the… Continue

Hey Miss Gina,
What have you been up to lately? I bet you and the "boys" have been busy lately with such gorgeous weather. Thought about you today as I was talking with a gal who was just getting into Mary Kay. I told her how awesome you did with it. Be fun to get together for a play day and trail ride before the snow flies. Seems like time keeps getting away from us all.

No I don't have any pictures of the costumes. I wish that I did. They belonged to the man I was working for. His name was Lawrence Sparrow and he operated L & M Training Stables in Loraine, IL back in the 70s. In fact the only photo I have of those years is a Back to Back Bareback Class photo that I purchased at a show we went to. I don't remember anyone even taking any photos except the professional photographers. I wish I had owned my own camera back then. How is the baby doing? I bet you and Gary having fun and it is hard to leave and come back home.

So sorry to hear about Quatraine. That is a loss to all. He was lovely. Hope you have a wonderful trip. I think it would be fun to make a costume but we may have to wait until we are less busy! There are sure some beautiful ones out there. I like the true native costumes best but they are plainer and usually do not do as well at shows. We sued to have a really pretty black one with all the shells sewn to make flower patterns and beautiful stitching. Some tiny little bells too. We also had a purple velvet one with silver tassels that always placed better. LOL

Hey Gina how about a blog to update us on how your summer is going?
Hope you are having a great weekend and can get lots of riding in. Hey would you be interested in making an Arabian costume? I would like to show in the Adams county fair in the costume class. Dixie thought you might be up for that?

Hey Gina,
Glad to hear all is going well and the Davenports are still enjoying all that extra attention. A fabulous group of horses and Charles and Jeanne are sure to appreciate all you hard work (or is that play? LOL).
Plans for a Savvy day coming up on the 25th. Are you interested in auditing the Parelli clinic in Hannibal in May? Ineed to get together with Dixie and Peggy to see where and when and what about the playday?Savvy day. Been a fun Spring already with lots to do and getting my "playpen" back together. Miss ya lots and hope we see ya soon!

How's the new kitty? Did you find his family yet? Can't wait to play with horses all weekend and enjoy our nice weather. Hope this lasts a long time yet! How are you coming with your patterns DVDs? Does it all make sense to you and seem worth while and also worth the expense?

Hey Gina,
Have you been out on your boy in all this wind? WOW It felt like I might see Dorothy and Toto fly by any moment. I had a great weekend playing with all my kids. SUre wish we all lived closer and every weekedn could be a play day. Poor Dix was parked on the couch with a cold but enjoyed the DVD's and watching Pat. Curled up with a Parelli DVD and a cup of hot chocolate isn't a bad way to spend the day either!

I worked with Patches a little Sunday on the obstacles. He was sooo good! It was really windy and the tarp was flapping around but he just sniffed it and pawed at it a couple of times and walked all the way over it! Laura Lynn (his owner) was there and she was so impressed that he did so good. I was showing her the 7 games and she really understood the whole concept and thought it would do her other horse good too. It's nice to have boarders who are all getting into it. The barn is starting to be more fun!
