Thanks. I wish I could take the credit for taking them. My friend's daughter, who is 17 years old, took these. She also has a bunch of wild life pictures that are incredible. I really think she has a talent.

How I got into the mini's and what I like to do with them!

I see you tagged me! LOL!

Anyway, you wanted to know how I got started with mini's?
I got started with the mini's because I had an Arabian mare who lived at my place alone and my vet at the time thought that she needed a companion, so I went looking for a mini horse to keep her company. I found a cute little black gelding that I thought she would like. Well, I WAS WRONG and so was my vet! She couldn't stand him and broke down the stall door to get to h… Continue

What a fun slide show! I think my fav pic was the one of the little camo snake! Hope you had a super fun summer. It sure went by fast didn't it. I am lookinf forward to catching up with friends over the winter on the internet. Ponygal finally convinced me to get off my slow dial up connection. Woo Hoo what a change!!!!! Love it and now I can see all the neat video everyone puts up and your cool slide show. Well I am off to get our " boys and girls" fed this morning. Little Man loves running with my big Arabian girls in the pasture. I am so glad they get along wonderful!

Hi Jess!
Love the fall pics and colors. Just beautiful with all the wildlife.
The cartoonish farm pictures on facebook are for the game called farmville. Basically you build and design your farm. You earn points by planting seeds and harvesting, then you can buy animals, houses, decorations, and more seed. Your farm neighbors send you gifts to use on your farm and fertilize your crops for more points.

Sounds like you are having a time of it, Jessie! Isn't it funny how everything happens at once. Hope you son is feeling better. Our ER is so full they had to open extra rooms to see patients.
Glad to hear your little Butterscotch is doing well. Knock on wood, right now everyone is well and getting ready for winter, I don't know for sure if Major would be able to be driven or not. I think he could pull the cart okay and a small child but I am not sure he would be okay for an adults weight or not. We will try him though. He has a strong body but is light in the hip and his front feet may givce him problems. I will have fun ground driving him for awhile anyway.

Hi Jessie,
What's up with you and your boys lately. I was looking forward to some pretty fall drives but it has been mostly wet and cold here. My boys are already sporting their full winter coats.
I am looking forward to ponygal coming down for Thanksgiving and seeing her boy looking all shiny and sassy. The farrier did a super job on him and pronounced no clubfoot. He has a conformation fault in his front feet turning out that causes a bit of a problem. He just wanted to be sure we stay on top of keeping him trimmed regularly. When he trimmed his feet there was no contact to the sole of the foot. He is scootin' around pretty good these days and loving his new digs.

Hi Jessie!
Actually it was something about him I can not describe that keep me thinking of this little guy. He does have pretty color but he is still a Major Investment..LOL Kinda how he got his barn name.
The other horses we looked at would have been cheaper. I am happy knowing we can get him all fixed up and he will earn back his keep in his future assignments.
We need more pictures of Butterscotch and video too! I love the eyes and mane color of Butterscotch. :)

Hello Jessie,
I hope to get some things posted soon and I bet ponygal will be getting some pics up soon too. We have been calling the new little guy Major as he is a major "investment" for Debbie. LOL. My farrier will be able to make some good progress I think and we need to get him to the equine dentist too. My vet wanted to wait till Spring on the crytorchid problem as there is a REMOTE possibility that the other testes would drop.
Little Man is very territorial about "his" girls and is NOT happy with the new arrangements. LOL. He has way too much attitude for such a little guy!
Major seems less assertive but when they were together it was a true little stallion fight with them knocking each other to the ground. Probably would be different if I had no mares here but they are the only males on the place. Little Man seems to have forgotten he was gelded because he is NOT going to let Major have his big girls without a knock down drag out fight.
For now I have them in stalls that are side by side with a mesh gate between them and each one can play in the arena for half the day. Still thinking on other arrangements but for now they are tolerating each other.
Major is a sweet guy and loves to play and sleep in the sand. He was following ponygal all over the place and trotting over my little cavaletti poles. I think with some extra good care he will be amazingly better by Spring.
How is little Butterscotch doing. Did you go for your fun driving weekend?
I have been playing with the little chestnut mini that is at QUEST. I posted a pic of him a few weeks back. He is a really sweet little guy too. I had such an easy time halter starting him. He has such fun playing out in the arena with me when I come to their barn.

Smarty was a really sweet guy with a cute little personality. Super sweet little weanlings too. Kim is into driving her minis too. Except for the detour, that had us driving around in circles both coming and going, we had a fun day! I told pony it was good we didn't have little Smarty in a trailer behind us during that route or he would have gotten dizzy and fallen down on the floor. LOL. I am so glad your new little guy is settlling in nicely and the "boys" are treating him well.

Yes we did get to go to Soapstone Farm. A really nice placewith her minis in a quaint old converted dairy barn. It was really a neat place! Horses were really nice and we are trying to make some decisions about them. Ponygal was going to send some pics or maybe post a video from our visit.

Thanks so much Jessie! You have been so wonderful. Without you I would probably not even have a harness yet and ponygal with the cart. She has ordered matching show halters for our "boys". I think hers would look pretty cute on a little mare too! Did you like the weanlings for sale too? I like the mare in foal too!

I am really happy for you about your little Butterscotch. He is so adorable. I can't wait to go tomorrow and check out the new prospect. I have a friend who is an occupational therapist who stopped by last weekend and fell in love with Little Man. She is very interested in my "pilot project" with the minis for our therapy kids.
Be sure to get lots of pics and video so we can share your fun time with your driving group. I would like to have more fun activities for minis in our area too.
I think I will try to get to meet more of the mini owners in my area.
