a memory is the only thing we can truly take with us when its all said and done

memories. I got my mare in 1968 , she was 4 yrs old and on TV as the last horse across the Texas boarder that was closed down due to the VEE epidemic. She was a dirrect daughter of 3 Bar. Cute little buckskin mare. The first horse I bought with my own $. I showed her for years. Roped on her for 2 years to pay the bills, trick rode on her and roman rode on her with her son when he was 5. I bought another horse to trick ride on to take to the orient in 1973 as I needed a black and white. But once… Continue

a little fame goes a long way

After so many years of working and making a very good living with horses, now I am into Mini's. Who's a thouight. Wellllllllllllllllllllllllllllll. After just a little over a year messing with the mini's , once again my horses have found their fame. As the local and GA papers and magazines are all doing articles on the little guys, and this time I haven't even put an speacial training into them just driving them. Before my horses , had to do St George evel and above with manuvers in the air and… Continue

Tryon N.C. HDT event , driving the VSEs

Well, we got home . Long weekend, the boys did great. We had some trouble in the dressage as it was in deep sand and the carraige was pretty bogged down. It was the hardest dressage test we have ever done. Because of the sand. But they did their best. Still got a 72. We did the obsticals great , clean and under time. We did marathon with time to spare also. One diviation for a few penalties but otherwise fantastic, so it was just my fault . We took home second in our division. A good go for… Continue

Mini driving equipment

I have had several people ask about harness, and carts for mini's . We have plenty here for sale if anyone needs minis and equiipment we are happy to help out. If anyone knows of mini sites that we should be using, please let us know.

I just got 4 new two year olds and am having a blast getting them all gentle and ready to drive. They were basicly unhandled since birth. We gelded them on the way home , stopping at my vets for a drive through gelding session. Now we have four little… Continue

Been looking at the CDE events and trying to learn more about the driving events. I think it sure looks like fun and much more interesting than show ring driving. I have been ground driving alot and have hooked my mini for the first few times with no problems. I plan to add some obstacles and try that class sometime. Are there any good websites or books you would recommend?

Hi Kathy,
I would love to ask you some harness questions. Are you still selling that kind of equipment?
Drop a line...thanks!

Hey Kathy,
Would love to hear more about your harnesses. Could you post your web site? Also, do you happen to know Laurie Ballard? She's in Santa Barbara and was pretty well known in the polo world. Just curious.

Kathy, I love your mini's! My very first horse was a black and white pinto and I've always had a fondness for them. (In fact a circus wanted to buy him, but I wasn't willing to part with him!) If I ever get a mini I'd like it to be black and white.

Like Becky I'm also anxious to hear some stories of your days in the circus. I've always had an interest in liberty horse training.
