Hey Deb,
The first two in the video are getting more comfortable. The buckskin and pinto at the end are new to the process, so I showed them at the beginning stage.
In this video our goal was to stand and choose to take the bath INSTEAD of eating...
How cute! I like your contest idea. Looks like your horses are used to getting a bath or is it as long as a treat is involved? My sister's mini does not like baths. Do you have many people entering your contest so far?
Thanks Becky....I think I'm going to fuss with the eye a bit and then make it into a poster just for fun. It does look like stained glass doesn't it! Thanks!
Peggy fell in love with horses at age 3 when her sister put her on a pay-per-lap pony ride in Griffith Park, Los Angeles. Since those early days Peggy has devoted herself to the study of how to better communicate with all animals, but her passion remained with horses. Peggy's current goal is to share the steps of learning Clicker Training, and how to achieve a "Connection" through the unity of Clicker Training and Connected Riding. It is an exciting time for all horse owners and with Clicker Training, you will find the ordinary horse owner can achieve wonderful results that until now, were reserved for professional trainers.
Just got done doing 2 demos a day for the Trail Blazer Festival held here in Santa Barbara last Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It was a fantastic venue with LTJ, John Lyons, Peggy Cummings, me, and a whole bunch more. I was so proud of the guys as this was the culmination of several months work. Had to share a few photos. Thanks for letting me share.
Just had to share this photo of "Moonshadow," our most recent addition to my "little" herd. She's 5 months old and very playful as you can see. Her neck and head were trimmed before I got her, but that's OK, it'll keep her cooler during the fall (we usually have a hot spell in… Continue

Hey Kathy,
I've got a nice but rustic handmade harness but it's missing a breechen. So I was trying to figure out if it was possible to try to match one to the harness.
Hi Peggy, just want to thank you for your cd. I have been following the steps and sparky is enjoying him self, he picks things up really fast, he is a smart wee man and its great fun. Do you have the clicker with you only when giving him a lesson?
Had a fun chance to "proof" my cues today. Every once in a while I sit on a barrel and give McKee verbal cues and see if he really understands the difference between my physical cues and verbal cues. It's a fun way to test what he knows.
For example, I'm sitting on the barrel and say "walk on." I don't care where he walks, I just want to know that he's responding to the verbal cue. If he does, I click. Then I move on to "back" or "circle" or "spin" or even backing in circles around the barrel.
At one point he was facing the barrel and I said "walk-on." He had to think it through, because if he walked forward, he'd have to climb the barrel. In this case he just took a step towards it, and sort of put his head by my lap LOL. So I asked again and he had to step out away and walk elsewhere.
To me this is a fantastic example of how horses can think and generalize. He KNOWS that "walk-on" means move forward....but we haven't learned right or left...so he tried his best to figure out where to go.
Anyway, I love this stuff....watching animals learn. Just wanted to share it.
happy clicking!

Peggy , have you seen Laurie as of late. and did you say Hi for me. She is such a nice gal , I sure hope things are going well for her. Playing polo with her was always fun.
I don't know her, sorry. It has been a long time since I lived in Calufornia and when I did it was southern California, near Norco. I live in Texas, near Corpus Christi
How interesting that you live in Carpinteria. I used to live there too! We lived on Foothill Rd. between the high school and the polo field. I miss it terribly at times, the weather, the ocean, the horse activity and occasional trips into the Santa Ynez valley.
