About Me:
I am 20, live in Klamath Falls OR, am studying to go into Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. I have always loved horses, but I first started working with them when I spent a year at a therapeutic wilderness program for "troubled teens."
I have spent the past 4 1/2 years in residential treatment dealing with self mutilation, anxiety, depression, PTSD, and other assorted issues. Working with horses was what kept me going when I wanted to give up and end it all. I am now a full time college student, a leader in my program community, and a confident, dependable worker.
"There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man."
How did you find us?
Internet: I'm always looking for more people who love horses.

Man from snowy river
Lord of the Rings
The curious case of Benjamin Buttons
Milo and Ottis
Favorite books?
Any book that I haven't read yet that involves horses, personal growth, friendship, and overcoming realistic life challenges.

Oldies and country

Hi Sarah,
Wondered how things are going for you over the summer. We are keeping busy here and I am looking into companion animal training for my miniature horse and continuuing with my Parelli Natural Horsemanship study. Had time to read any good books lately? I am always looking for a good summer read for those moments when I have a few minutes to spend under the shade tree with a glass of ice tea.

Glad you enjoyed the book Sarah. I hope all is well with you and that you are continuing your journey toward helping others while in turn you heal yourself as well. Hope Rising is a book that I enjoy sharing with others. Stop by on the site when you can to let us know how you are. I think of you often.

Be prepared to laugh and cry and NOT be able to put the book down. I loved it and it filled me with hope. I read her other book also and they are both wonderful. The stories of the voluteers that are on the website were pretty inspirational also. Let me know what you think about the book when you are done. I occasionally do a book review when I run across a good one and try to post the Amazon link here too. Hope your weekend was great.

The reason I thought you might like Hope Rising or even use it for something at school is because it is a true story. It is about a ranch where miracles happen with people in need of hope and horses in need of saving also. Here is a link to the website in case you get a chance to take a look.

Hey Sarah,
Have you read Hope Rising by Kim Meeder? A favorite of mine and I think she is from Oregon too. I loved the book Hank and Chloe but can't remember the author right now. Be sure to share your favs in case I haven't read them yet! The only thing I love to do as much as ride is read. LOL
