Remember the saying "Never say never"? While accomplishing a couple of firsts, I had to acknowledge the truth of this saying. I will never have a pony....., they are sooooo ornery. I will never do a parade...., all that hurry up and wait. Funny how life likes to whittle us down a notch or two.
I bought my first miniature horse..., does that mean I might as well have got a pony? He is one of the most joyful parts of my life.
I did a parade and even though there was lots of hurry up and wait...., we all had a blast!
We walked with the Autism awareness group. They are all amazing. One of the best questions of the day is one you rarely hear asked. " Where should I touch the little horse?" An amazingly intuitive question don't you agree?
The miniature horse boys did a fantastic job of dealing with all the exciting and sometimes frightening sight and sounds of a parade. It was a first for me and for both of them. I continue to be awed and touched by the trust horses will place in those they love. It is humbling and reminds me not to ask them for more than they can give.
What wonderful little ambassadors the were that day for the power of the horse to bring joy to people simply by being one of God's best creations.
